TDF Talks With Blogger + Entrepreneur Courtney Adamo

Podcast

We’ve arrived at our 30th episode of TDF Talks, and I’m thrilled to conclude our third season with blogger, author, entrepreneur, global adventurer, and super mum-of-five, !

I never cease to be inspired by Courtney’s incredible drive and her adventurous spirit. She’s built a truly remarkable online community, on her own terms.

It was so wonderful to sit in her beautiful home in Bangalow recently to chat about the next chapter in her journey.

After growing up in the US and studying journalism, met her now-husband Michael, and followed him to the UK, where they ended up living for 12 years.

In 2007, Courtney co-founded hugely successful UK based blog, , which is an incredible resource and directory for parents and families – and one of the first globally popular ‘Mummy blogs’, for want of a better word!

Despite having built a wonderful life in London over 12 years, Courtney’s sense of adventure was calling. In 2015, she and Michael sold their home, rounded up their kids, and took them on a ‘gap year’ of global adventures. During this trip, which Courtney documented online, the family travelled to Bangalow and New South Wales, and fell in love. In fact, they loved it so much, they ended up moving there!

Courtney’s latest project is – a five-week subscriber-based e-course covering all things family, food, home, travel and lifestyle. The course is ad-free, and includes weekly magazine-style content, videos, podcasts, and a private Instagram community. It feels like a really powerful experiment in online publishing, and marks a return to smaller, more engaged and supportive internet communities – something that I, for one, find so encouraging!
