NGV Triennial Talks

15th December, 2017

NGV’s Triennial exhibition opens its discussion program this weekend to accompany the impressive, expansive exhibition.

Today marks the opening of NGV’s Triennial – an expansive, free exhibition that traverses all four levels of the iconic NGV International building. Featuring over 100 different artists and designers from 32 countries, there’s a LOT going on until the exhibition’s closing on April 15th, 2018.

In addition to the incredible curation of contemporary visual art, the Triennial exhibition includes a compelling program of talks and discussions from local and international speakers, spanning some pretty incredible art and design topics.

If you’re a bit overwhelmed by all the amazing options, not to fret! We’ve picked out a few of our favourite Triennial Talks from the opening weekend:

First up at 11.30am on Saturday December 16th, Brazilian designer  talks ideas, inspirations, challenges and opportunities he’s faced at the helm of one of the world’s most creative design studios.

Later on at 4.30pm, the possibilities and future digital technology will be explored in a rare appearance from New York/Dutch designer J, .

The following morning,  from the Netherlands discuss their ground-breaking commission for NGV Triennial Ore Streams, exploring the uncharted, inefficient and murky global process for recovering metals from waste.
